I used this kit with phaser blocks. Without blocks I would only recommend motocraft phasers. Otherwise it's complete with good gaskets and the updated tensioner seals and even valve cover grommets. The phasers I received would fit the smaller size blocks if you go that route. Would purchase again

Variable Camshaft Timing Chain Kit for 2004-2014 Ford, 2005-2014 Lincoln

The old Ford Expedition with 150,000 miles on it has never had a timing kit changed out on it and the phasers on the ends of the cams just were not advancing the valves the way they should. Got a plethora of codes on OBD2 diagnostics and my Ford-engine guru buddy told me this particular constellation of red X marks on a diagnostic means the phasers are bad and valve advance isn't working right - or just locked up at zero (or at midway on newer engines than mine). So I got this kit and had my guys in the shop install it and they showed me how good these new phasers are - and great chain - and great guides and tensioner and sprocket, etc. It's a well-made kit and very complete. Valves advancing perfectly now and error codes gone - well, maybe 1 or 2 left but those will go away with injectors and plugs. LOL. Seriously, a very good timing kit!
